Three Ways To Encourage People

| Relationships

Like you, having battled storms in life, God has a way of bringing good lessons through the storms. I am humbled to walk with and among some amazing, “wound healers,” to bring HOPE to those battling hopelessness. Three quick ways to encourage people.

1- Through Words- This is the number one way we either encourage or discourage the people, through the words we speak. Your words can either be a tool to build people up, or it can be a weapon to tear people down, and we have to decide how we use our words. (Matthew 12:36-37)

2- Acts of Kindness- Acts of kindness are a great way to give encouragement to a friend, something as simple as a card, an invitation to dinner, or giving them a cup of coffee when they haven’t asked for it. Serving them in some unexpected way. The third way you can show encouragement is simply this:

3- Just Listening- Taking the time to listen when they need to talk. Not rushing back and saying, “how are you doing,” and keep on going, but stopping and giving your time to listen to them. Show them that you really care by just listening to them.

It’s not okay to be a discourager. It’s not okay not to be an encourager. In fact, it’s a sin. Instead of helping friends grow, instead of helping them improve and investing in their lives, we are tearing them down and making them feel worse.

“So encourage each other and build each other up just as you are already doing.” (I Thessalonians 5:11)

What a way to start “Holy Week” Be an encourager. Look at what God has done for you- Enough said!😊
