It’s Not A ‘Should Be’ Passage

We are meant to go out into our community as instruments of grace. As God’s children, “You are the light of the world.” Look at that sentence again, “YOU ARE the light of the world.”
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matt 5:13-14)
It’s not a ‘SHOULD BE’ passage. It’s not saying, “You should be the light of the world.” It’s a statement of fact, “You are the light of the world.” What an amazing thing!
