An Expected End- Jeremiah 29:11

| Hope

I pray this really encourages you as you read one of the most famous and favorite verses in all of Scripture.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jer 29:11)

The word “expected” and comes from the meaning of the root word meaning “cord.” It’s means attachment. “Expectation is the thing I long for…” The end is what you have wished for. What you’ve longed for.

The end is the expectation, it means that God has you on a cord, attached, to an expectation, to the thing you long for.

Imagine, if you placed a cord on someone and begin to pull them toward you. What’s the expectation? YOU! Where are they going to end up? They will end up where you are pulling them.

“God knew what He was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love Him along the same lines as the life of His Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity He restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in Him.” (Rom 8:29 Message)
